In our care your toddler will:
- have lots of hugs and attention
- have an individual care plan that follows his or her toileting
routine at home as closely as possible
- have a minimum of one carer for every four toddlers
- be looked after by the same carers every day and, in particular,
one keyworker will record their developmental milestones and progress
– mapped according to ‘From Birth to Three Matters’ curriculum
- have a sleep mat and cushions to provide a cosy environment
for sleeping
- be looked after in safe and calm surroundings with soft padded
walls for safety but are also bright and stimulating with activities
in order to develop a sense of discovery
- have a range of activities to encourage ‘learning through play’
such as reading stories and poems, drawing, listening to music,
singing, dressing up and a home corner
- have a separate nappy changing area and a choice of toileting
facilities
- have toys which are developmentally appropriate – pullalong/pushalong
toys, soft toys, balls, brio train sets, duplo, sticklebricks,
wooden sorting and learning toys, art and craft materials, puzzles
and books
- have creative play activities such as sand and water, play dough,
painting, growing and cooking
- be given a gentle introduction to letters, numbers, colours
and shapes
- participate in regular exercise outdoors, in our soft play gym
and do ‘Toddlerobics’.
- go on regular outings and trips
